Your Best Self
Are you ready to become the best version of you? Along my life’s journey, I was guided to work on me, and the results have been beyond amazing. However, I spent many years of my life blaming my circumstances on the economy, my parents, my husband, my in-laws ……. etc. When I was unable to master learning English as a second language in high school in my home country, of course, it was my teacher’s fault because she didn’t like me, she was mean, blah, blah, blah. While this attitude made me feel liberated of any responsibility, nothing changed in my life. In my journey to self-discovery, I learned that this attitude was going to give me more of what I already had, and I didn’t want.
When I decided that I needed an upgrade, just like my phone and my computer, my life took a turn for the better. There is a Japanese proverb that says: “When the student is ready the teacher appears.” I was ready, and what I needed kept coming my way. After 20 years of doing upgrades on myself and investing large amounts of time, energy, and money, I have decided to dedicate the rest of my life to help others create upgrades for themselves, it is very rewarding. And what is even better is that the people who I work with help me to continue with my own self-improvement because of their own ideas and creations.
As this year is coming to an end, it is the perfect time for us to review where we are, what we have done this year and to listen to where is our heart guiding us to go next.
We are not static beings, we are either growing and expanding, which brings excitement and happiness, or we are stagnated which leads to unhappiness and feelings of emptiness. Our spirit has a need for growth and expansion, and when we are in that mode, we feel fulfilled and excited about life. However, when we are in this place of growth and expansion fear seems to want to accompany us and warns us of all the potential failures and dangers because this is uncharted territory. There is no better place than the unknown to create a new you and a new life for yourself.
Where to begin this journey to your best self? I like to encourage people to begin by listening to their heart and finding the answer to the question “What do I really, really, really want? This is a question I learned from the book Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. Have a journal and write down what comes to you from asking this question. Daily meditation and reflection will help you clarify and organize the guidance that is coming to you. Another important ingredient in this upgrading of the self is to read books that relate to that which you want. Also, ask for guidance from Divine Intelligence and trust that what is coming to you is just what you need. The icing on the cake to this process is gratitude. Feel gratitude in your heart, body, and mind as if which you want is already yours. The feeling of gratitude is the magnet to attraction.
Please don’t assume for a second that this doesn’t require work beyond wishful thinking. It also requires that you write things down. I often tell people if what you want is not in writing it doesn’t exist; you have no proof. I have one page that I want to bring into my life that I read several times a week, and journals that help me capture the ideas that this abundant universe is continuously sharing with me. There is plenty for all of us to have what we want if we are willing to put ourselves in a state of receiving by listening to our hearts and working towards its achievement.
I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful Christmas, filled with love and inner peace. May your heart guide you with love and patience to create a beautiful New Year in 2019, that in turn will encourage others to do the same.
