A Yin yoga class usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body – the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. The poses are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer.
Laina Birch, 200 hr Yoga Instructor: Laina Birch started her home practice in Aug of 2016. She was attracted to yoga for the physical strength it had to offer, using just your body and the fact no gym was needed. Soon after she discovered yoga offered so much more. She fell in love with creating balance within herself, learning to release the stresses of life, and becoming more mindful in everyday tasks not just on her mat. Looking to deepen her practice, she completed Rebecca Sirman 200hr yoga teacher training in June 2018. From there, she found her calling for yin yoga. Offering to help others find peace and quiet within themselves. Laina teaches Yin on Saturday mornings at 8:30-9:45 am beginning September 22.
