Stress can lower our body’s ability to fight illness. It can cause chronic inflammation, wreak havoc on our G.I. system, and lead to headaches, insomnia, depression and anxiety. Stress can also cause weight gain and there has been shown to be a correlation between chronic stress and heart disease. It is nearly impossible to avoid stress, but we can change our responses to stress as we learn to recognize triggers and practice self-care.
In this workshop we will explore:
• Yoga tools and techniques to help deal with stress factors in your life.
• Different pranayama (breathing) techniques
• Mudras, mantras
• Simple asana (postures) techniques
• Meditation and yoga nidra.
*Bring a mat and a journal if you’d like to take notes, workshop includes discussion as well as movement.
