About The Project
The Blooming Lotus Project at The Personal Wellness Center is an expressive therapy Child and Adolescent Wellness Center and includes Therapy Services, Medication Management, Intensive Family Services, and Case Management Services. The Blooming Lotus Project is the first child and adolescent wellness center on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and provides comprehensive services to Wicomico, Worcester, and Somerset Counties in addition to also providing services to the State of Delaware and is for ages 3-17.
Our Approach
Creative interventions have been formalized through the disciplines of art therapy, music therapy, dance andmovement therapy, drama therapy or psychodrama, poetry therapy, and play therapy, including sand tray therapy. Using a combination of the Montessori method and Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences, we have tailored a program to meet children and adolescents in the way that they learn best. We believe this approach allows youth to engage with their inner and outer worlds with excitement and security.
The overarching expressive art and mindfulness that comes with this program allows youth to build resilience, increase problem solving and coping skills, and express their emotions in healthy ways. In other words, we help youth learn to be their best selves.

The camp offers a safe place for these children to express their grief, to explore the many emotions that accompany the death of someone close, and to learn age-appropriate coping skills that will assist them on their grief journey.
Blooming Lotus Project is the home of Little Warrior Services. This unique program offers a nurturing space for children affected by cancer, whether they are battling the disease themselves or living with a family member who is.
