To be HAPPY or to not be HAPPY: The CHOICE is yours

The Personal Wellness Center What You Believe Is What You Get And To Be Happy Or To Not Be Happy The Choice Is Yours

To be HAPPY or to not be HAPPY:  The CHOICE is yours

When asked: Do you want to be HAPPY?  Most people are likely to respond yes, of course I want to be happy but ………then they add what is getting on the way.  Often times we do not see ourselves in charge of our happiness.  We overwhelm ourselves with many questions, possibilities and fears.  It can all be simplified by asking one simple question, do I want to be happy? And if the answer is YES! We need to behave accordingly.  This means that we will focus on the positive, the present moment and what we can control and let go of the rest.  Once we make that choice, our path through life becomes more clear.

I would like to invite you for one whole day to ask yourself that question and don’t allow anything to get in the way of your happiness.  See any and everything that comes your way that you don’t like or don’t want as an opportunity for growth and expansion.  You may be tempted to say “but I don’t want to grow or expand”. To that I would say: you don’t have an option! Life is about growing and expanding, we do have the choice, however, of making it easier or harder for ourselves.  Choosing to be happy and letting go of everything that gets on the way for one whole day can be a liberating experience.  I have to warn you that you may want to do it again and again and it could potentially become addictive.

As I grow older, I’m looking for ways to create more joy in my life and I have discovered that by asking the question do I want to be happy? I can often center my energy into what really matters.  I am learning to see that life doesn’t always go as planned and that sometime it’s better than expected.   I am choosing to let go of judgment so my spirit can be free to appreciate the wonderful life that was given to me.

It’s not always easy to stay centered and you have to create practices that support your choice to be happy.  Meditation is a great way to surrender to what is and trusting what will be. Through meditation you can be in the present moment and receive guidance for difficult moments and challenging circumstances. Gratitude is another practice that allows you to focus on happiness and what is going well. Daily meditation and gratitude have a cumulative positive benefit over time and its effect become even more powerful when done in conjunction with the choice to be happy.

Making a commitment to unconditional happiness will teach you everything you need to know about yourself, others and the nature of life.  You will also learn how to open your heart and quiet your mind.  You will experience a life filled with love, inner peace and wisdom that will unfold in front of you effortlessly.
